Electronic Acupuncture
Acupuncture without needlesAcupuncture is an ancient method of healing, developed in China more than 5000 years ago to bring about health & wellness to the individual. Combining the best of Western medicine as in the use of electricity; with the best of Eastern medicine using our acupoints, Electronic Acupuncture uses mild electrical pulses to stimulate acupuncture points to unblock and correct imbalances of ki flow, so as to achieve the function of pain relief, health protection, immune system enhancement and balancing energy flow – just as traditional acupuncture does but without piercing the skin. It balances the body’s natural equilibrium, making it more effectively able to heal on its own.
You may have a sensitive area of muscles, tendons, ligaments or simply a nerve cluster. In order to treat ailments, this gentle pressure is applied to specific pressure points in your body. The different body areas & organs each have direct connections to these points, which are then stimulated to achieve the results sought.

Frequently asked questions
How effective is electronic acupuncture in comparison to needles?
Electronic acupuncture is believed to be just as effective and in some cases more effective than needle acupuncture.
Is it a better alternative to traditional acupuncture?
Not necessarily as different commodities suit different people and we all have ‘free will’ in the commodities we choose to use. Electronic acupuncture is sometimes used in place of yet sometimes in combination with traditional (needle) acupuncture. Traditional needle acupuncture is not practiced in our clinic.
Is it painful?
Most wouldn’t generally consider it painful, however it does produce a tingling sensation on the skin.
Will excessive body hair interfere with the treatment?
It can interfere with the device making good skin contact and produce a slight electrical arcing that can cause a slight stinging sensation. A contact gel can be used to minimise this reaction.
Is it necessary to separate it from other treatments?
Electronic Acupuncture blends well with most other treatments.
Is it suitable for everyone?
